At the heart of the Winter Adventure DTS (WADTS) is a passion to see people become disciples of Jesus and knowing the life that He’s calling us to. We believe that means loving God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and it means living a life of radical, love-based obedience that flows from intimacy with God and hearing His voice. We also believe that a disciple makes disciples, and the heart of the WADTS is to see people equipped to make disciples wherever they are. You might be wondering what winter adventures have to do with discipleship. Well, we are passionate about adventuring, and we are passionate about using adventure to accelerate spiritual growth. The WADTS will provide heaps of opportunities to pursue and enjoy downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, winter camping, ice-fishing, etc. with like-minded others like yourself. These pursuits create growth in two ways: first of all, by creating and accelerating a culture of intimacy and vulnerability in the DTS; and secondly, as we connect with God through His creation (Rom 1:20) we can better come to know Him.
A wise man once said to those who would follow him, “I have come so that you may have life, and have it to the full.” For some of us in the world, adventure in the mountains and the excitement of winter bring us life! We love the smell of fresh snow, and we dream of just getting out there, pushing the boundaries of what we can do, and exploring all that there is. It’s exciting, thrilling, and fun. Yet, are you aware that no matter how much life these adventures bring us, they pale in comparison to the true life that Jesus brings?! Jesus meant something much deeper when He said those words. As with all YWAM Idaho Cascade schools, we are looking for individuals who will take up the charge to carry the Good News to those who have never heard. The outreach phase of the WADTS will carry you to unreached nations in the spring where you will build relationships and share the Good News with people who have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
(*For standard outreach location. A second location may be available, in which costs may be higher)
