Distinctiveness of DTS at YWAM Idaho
Frontier-Focused: The DTS and the vision of YWAM Idaho is frontier-focused. This means we direct our prayers, finances, and outreaches to the most unreached places and people groups - the places and people who have never heard the name of Jesus. YWAM Idaho is a pioneering base, this is at the heart of who we are and our mission.  Our focus is to pioneer not only in Idaho, but around the world. We are seeking DTS students with hearts for adventure and pioneering attitudes.

Language/cultural learning: There is a special emphasis during the DTS on language acquisition and cultural orientation. Learning the language and cultural values of the people we will be ministering to allows you and your outreach team to show and share God’s love to the lost more effectively.

Lecture Phase:
The DTS is divided into two parts: The first 12 weeks is the lecture or classroom phase. You will be discipled together with others from all over the world who are also passionately seeking God’s heart.  Our guest teachers come from dynamic national and international ministries to share awesome Biblical truths.

Weekly at YWAM Idaho, you will experience time alone with God, intercession/prayer times, classroom instruction/lectures, small group interaction, one-on-ones with your small group leader, language acquisition & cultural training, community outreach, fellowship with speakers, staff & other students, anointed worship in the presence of  God, and free time to process all that God is doing!

Outreach Phase:
The second phase of DTS is outreach. A DTS outreach is an eight to twelve week adventure that provides students with the opportunity to apply the truths from lecture phase and to truly find their place in world missions. The cross-cultural outreach is an awesome experience as you share God’s love with those who may have never heard!

Your life will be changed as you step out in faith to share the Good News, through things such as playing with orphans, praying for the sick, talking with university students, being the example of Christ to students as you teach English, and so much more. Currently, our main strategic focus is Northern India. This region represents one of the neediest places on the planet for the Gospel.

For You?

Deep inside you, is there a stirring to have a more intimate relationship with God, and to know Him more?

Do you want to prepare yourself to make a difference in a world? Then a DTS is for you!

What is a DTS???

The Discipleship Training School emphasizes heart transformation and character development, not just the accumulation of knowledge.  In essence, it is an intense missions training program that focuses on developing a lifestyle of passion for Jesus and compassion for the world.  It is a journey to discover the heart of God and learn His ways.

The Purpose of the DTS is:
Knowing God personally and intimately is the bottom line.

Some of the outcomes of DTS at YWAM Idaho are:
- Understanding what it means to know God
- Developing a solid Biblical foundation

- Cultivating a dynamic love relationship with Jesus
- Gaining an unforgettable passion for missions
- Challenging you to become involved in evangelism
